A few words from our Founder 

"As a first-generation Mexican American, I understand the importance of representation, diversity & inclusivity in brands. I grew up in a small town in Switzerland, where no one really looked like me. I always wished I had blonde hair and light eyes like the majority of what I saw around me, and what was represented as beautiful on television and magazine covers. I didn’t realize until decades later what a strong subconscious impact this had on me. To see yourself represented can make such a profound impact. This is why inclusivity is such an important brand pillar for us. I strongly believe that in order to build a true connection and sense of community in a brand, women need to feel represented and heard.

Sustainability is another key pillar for NOOD. Spending my formative years in Switzerland lead to a profound love of nature and animals, with sustainability built into our way of life. My family always had compost pile, we always had our own bags for the grocery store, I remember collecting cans to take to the recycling center where I received a nickel a can. These things were simply a part of ordinary everyday life, but I only really became aware of how important this was years later. When my mother realized her dream of owning beachfront property in Mexico. I couldn’t wait to visit with her. When we visited this incredible beach off the second largest coral reef in the world, I was shocked to see the immense amount of plastic garbage washed up on the shores. It was disheartening to see this protected reserve littered with plastic garbage from all over the world. I promised myself that we would do everything we could to make NOOD as planet friendly as possible. It takes time, it costs more, but it’s the right thing to do.

Lastly, innovation. I’m a problem solver at heart and I feel that every problem has a solution. There is always a way, there is always a better way and that is forever our approach when developing new products at NOOD. We want to make things in a better way, for women and for the planet."
