Fall Sangria Glass

Fall isn’t just a time of year- it has become an obsession! An obsession that I absolutely share in. The warm cozy sweaters, cute booties, crisp air and of course, all the special autumn drinks we can think of.

One of my favorite traditions my friends and I have is when we gather every year on what we call “Friendsgiving”. Since Thanksgiving is a day for family, we usually reserve the day prior for spending quality time with one and other. Each of us plans to bring a couple of home made items for the occasion and convene at one person’s home to sit down for a meal and cocktails together. This past year in particular I was responsible to bring the cocktails of choice. I took to Pinterest, scouring recipes looking for the best pumpkin or apple drink I could find. Finally after some research, I found the most perfect drink that could be enjoyed by everyone.. Sparkling Apple Cider Sangria! It was super easy and made with only a few ingredients. It is a perfect drink to warm your spirits on a chilly autumn night. I promise this will be a hit among your friends, coworkers, family members and party goers!

  Here is the recipe!

          •   2 apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
          •   1/2 cup cognac(your choice)
          •   2 cups apple cider
          •   750ml bottle cava (or other dry sparkling wine),     chilled
          •   1/4 cup pomegranate seeds

Add the apples to a large pitcher reserving about 1/2 cup for garnishing. Add the cognac, apple cider, and chilled cava. Stir.

Fill the pitcher with ice. Pour the sangria into glasses filled with ice and top with sliced apple and pomegranate seeds. You can also add cinnamon sticks to garnish as well!  This recipe will serve about 8.

Give it a try and good luck!
