If your a frequent runner and marathons are part of your regular workout regime, then this might sound all too familiar. Long distance runners (men & women) face the greatest likelihood of developing a super uncomfortable condition called Joggers nipple caused by the friction of your shirt or bra rubbing against nipple tissue resulting in chafing and painful irritation. Symptoms of Joggers nipple include:

  • Redness of the skin
  • Soreness
  • Dryness
  • Irritation and stinging sensation
  • Cracked skin in extreme cases

Yup, sounds absolutely terrible. Luckily there are several tips that can help prevent and protect your sensitive nips!  

Wear the Right Gear

Since chafing is caused by friction or movement of your nipple against your bra or top, you want to minimize movement by investing in a supportive sports bra and choosing breathable materials that wick away sweat, like bamboo and performance fabrics.
