We hope you are all staying home and healthy. Being in isolation is tough on all of us but it really is the best thing we can do for our community right now.  With the numbers going up daily, and supplies dwindling, we can still protect ourselves and help our healthcare workers by DIY'ing some masks of our own.

While a home made mask is not a replacement for a surgical or N-95 mask and will not protect you from the COV-19 virus 100%, some protection has shown to be better than nothing. The number one thing you can do to protect yourself, your loved ones and society, is to stay home and social distance as much as possible.

Given the shortage of masks for healthcare professional who are risking their lives every day, the last thing member of the population should be doing is hoarding masks. We must save these resources for the hospitals and medical professionals.

  1. If you absolutely need to leave your home, a home-made mask IS better than nothing
  2. In this extreme crisis, hospitals are now asking for donations of home-made masks.

If you have basic sewing capabilities, we've listed some resources on how you can help and links to guide you.
